Rockies Put Elias Diaz On 10-Day Injured List
6 months agoThe Colorado Rockies placed catcher Elias Diaz (calf) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to June 11) with a left-calf strain on Friday and reinstated outfielder Nolan Jones (knee) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. Diaz will head to the shelf after injuring his calf while running to first base back on Monday against the Minnesota Twins and hadn't played since. The 33-year-old could miss more than the 10 days on the injured list, so fantasy managers must make plans to be without him until later this month. In Colorado, Jacob Stallings will take over starting catching duties, with Hunter Goodman providing some depth. Diaz has been one of the better hitting catchers in fantasy in 2024 and needs to be stashed in an IL spot while he heals. He's currently hitting .303/.352/.439 with five homers and 28 RBI in 198 at-bats.
