Robby Anderson Won't Give Jets Hometown Discount
5 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson, who will hit the open market this offseason, won't be giving the Jets a hometown discount. “You got to talk to my agent,” Anderson said after Gang Green's 13-6 win over the Bills backups on Sunday. “I don’t think that makes sense.” The Jets shopped Anderson at the trade deadline, and his improvement in the second half of the season should earn him more money as a free agent. He finished with 52 catches for 779 yards and five touchdowns, going for 27 receptions, 420 yards and three touchdowns in the final six games of the season. Despite the fact that he doesn't have a 1,000-yard season, Anderson could be in line for a multi-year deal worth $12-15 million per year in a weak receiver market. His landing spot in 2020 will determine most of his fantasy value.
