5 years agoUpdating a previous report, retired New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has already taken his physical for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A trade between the Buccaneers and Patriots hasn't been completed, but it looks as though Gronkowski is coming back to football if everything goes through. He's been putting on weight for a return and only wants to play with quarterback Tom Brady. The 30-year-old (31 in May) retired after the Patriots won the Super Bowl in early 2019, but he's itching to return. Gronk was slowed by nagging injuries in '18, but he still caught 47 passes for 682 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games. The five-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro will be an injury risk if he comes back to play with Brady, but he'll immediately become at least a low-end TE1 target.
