Redskins Hopeful Paul Richardson Will Play
6 years agoWashington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said the team is "hopeful" that wide receiver Paul Richardson (knee, shoulder) will play in Week 8 against the Giants after sitting out in Week 7. With Jamison Crowder unlikely to play again this Sunday, Richardson has a chance to be the No. 1 wideout for quarterback Alex Smith. That hasn't amounted to much in this stagnant Redskins passing attack so far this year, though, meaning Richardson won't be much more than a WR4/flex if he plays. He has only 16 catches on 24 targets for 212 yards and two touchdowns in five games. If he's inactive for the second straight game, Josh Doctson and Maurice Harris would be the top two wideouts once again.
