Reds Send Nick Senzel To Minor Leagues
6 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds sent third baseman/outfielder Nick Senzel to the minor leagues on Friday. The Reds had been working Senzel in center field this spring and he hit .308 in major league camp. Agent Joel Wolfe told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Friday that his client was sent down to prevent his major league service time from beginning. "I don't believe I've ever made public statements on this issue in my career, but I feel compelled to do so in this case where it feels like a simply egregious case of service-time manipulation," Wolfe said. Senzel hit .310 with six home runs, 25 RBI and eight steals in 44 games for Triple-A last year while being set back by injuries. Cincy's top prospect and No. 6 overall should be up in the big leagues soon and could make an immediate impact in all fantasy leagues.
