Reds Acquire Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp, Alex Wood
6 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds acquired outfielders Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp, starting pitcher Alex Wood and catcher Kyle Farmer on Friday in exchange for starting pitcher Homer Bailey, middle infield prospect Jeter Downs and pitcher Josiah Gray, according to league sources. The Dodgers are also sending $7 million to the Reds. Puig and Kemp will both start at the corner outfield spots in 2019 and provide legitimate thump to their lineup. Kemp was an All-Star in 2018 but had a terrible second half. Puig's fantasy value jumps, as he should be playing every day now. Wood, a left-hander, improves Cincy's rotation after going 9-7 with a 3.68 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 135 strikeouts in 151 2/3 innings in 2018. Wood is an injury risk and is now moving to a hitter-friendly ballpark, so he won't be as attractive to fantasy owners.
