6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays are close to signing free-agent starting pitcher Charlie Morton, according to sources. Morton is coming off two great seasons with the Astros, although he did wear down a bit toward the end of last year. The 35-year-old had 15 wins, a 3.13 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 167 innings and will be a nice veteran presence in a young rotation in Tampa if the deal goes through.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
