Rashard Higgins Has Good Shot At No. 3 WR Gig
5 years agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins has a good chance to be the team's No. 3 receiver behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry to begin the 2020 season, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. Higgins has an advantage over rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones because he already has chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield. Peoples-Jones will also have very few on-field repetitions with Mayfield because of the coronavirus restrictions. Head coach Kevin Stefanski ran three-wide sets only 25 percent of the time as the offensive coordinator in Minnesota, however, and the Browns have two capable tight ends in Austin Hooper and David Njoku. Running back Kareem Hunt can also run routes out of the backfield. Higgins has a leg up on the No. 3 wideout job, but it's unlikely to produce fantasy relevant numbers in this stacked offense.
