Rashaad Penny Having Surgery, Out 3-4 Weeks
6 years agoSeattle Seahawks rookie running back Rashaad Penny (finger) is having surgery to fix a broken finger and will be out three to four weeks, according to sources. He'll be questionable for Week 1 of the regular season, but the Seahawks are hoping he'll be ready. Chris Carson had already seized the lead-back duties in training camp, so this is a further blow to the rookie's fantasy value heading into the season. The fact that he'll lose valuable repetitions in preseason games is not a good thing, and we wouldn't be surprised if he starts out slow when he does return. Carson has become a much safer draft choice with this news, and Mike Davis could make his case to be the backup with Penny out.
