5 years agoThe Texas Rangers plan to designate infielder Asdrubal Cabrera and catcher Tim Federowicz for assignment on Friday. The 33-year-old switch-hitting Cabrera is slashing just .235/.318/.393 with 12 home runs, 45 runs, 51 RBI and four stolen bases in 93 games for Texas this year, while Federowicz has a putrid .169/.224/.366 slash line with four homers and seven RBI in 71 at-bats. Cabrera could latch on with a team as a utility infielder for the stretch run, but it's unlikely he'll appeal to anyone outside of single-universe leagues if that happens.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
