Ranger Suarez Optioned After MLB Debut
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies optioned starting pitcher Ranger Suarez to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after his MLB debut on Thursday. The left-hander picked up the win against the Reds, allowing four runs and six hits while walking one and striking out three over five innings. It wasn't the prettiest outing, but Suarez could easily be back up with the club later this year as they push for a playoff berth. The 22-year-old had a 2.38 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 66 strikeouts over 90 2/3 innings with Double-A Reading this year.
