Raisel Iglesias To Be Used In One-Inning Role
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels closer Raisel Iglesias will be used in a one-inning role this year, according to manager Joe Maddon. Iglesias pitched more than an inning 15 times in 2021, although the Angels limited his usage down the stretch in order to keep him healthy heading into free agency. The Halos re-signed the right-hander to a four-year, $58 million on Dec. 1. The 32-year-old is one of the best closers in the game and recorded 34 saves while posting a 2.57 ERA with 103 strikeouts and 12 walks in 70 innings. He finished 11th in American League Cy Young voting. Iglesias' fantasy value as a top-five closer shouldn't change much at all with a smaller workload expected.
