Raisel Iglesias Returns To Angels On Four-Year Deal
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Angles and closer Raisel Iglesias agreed to a four-year deal on Tuesday night, according to a source familiar with the deal. MLB Network's Jon Heyman is reporting that the deal is worth $58 million. The 31-year-old right-hander turned down the team's qualifying offer, but he'll return to Anaheim after an excellent 2021 season in which he had a 2.57 ERA with 34 saves in 65 appearances. Iglesias struck out 103 batters and walked only 12 in 70 innings for a career-best 8.58 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He finished 11th in the American League Cy Young voting. He has a 3.06 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP and has struck out 29.7% of the hitters he's faced since debuting in 2015 with the Cincinnati Reds. Iglesias' 134 saves from 2017 to last year trail only Kenley Jansen and Edwin Diaz for the most in the majors.
