Pirates Cautiously Optimistic About Gregory Polanco
6 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates are "cautiously optimistic" about outfielder Gregory Polanco's (shoulder) progress, according to general manager Neal Huntington. Polanco is in the early stages of his throwing program after having surgery on his left shoulder and is "uninhibited" when it comes to swinging. The 27-year-old won't be ready for the start of the season, which will obviously hurt his draft stock tremendously. But don't forget that he had a career-high 23 home runs, 81 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 130 games before his injury. He's still worth drafting in the late middle rounds and could be ready to return sometime in May.
