6 years agoThings are heating up with free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper, and the Philadelphia Phillies are now the favorites to sign him, although nothing is official as of Sunday. His deal will be a long-term one and he has multiple long-term offers for more than $30 million per year on the table. However, the market is "evolving." The Padres have also reportedly made a strong offer to Harper, but it's unknown if they will go as far as the Phils. The 26-year-old hit a disappointing .249 last year but still managed to hit 34 home runs and drive in 100 runs. Moving to Philadelphia would give him an even higher ceiling in an excellent hitting park and in a much-improved lineup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
