Phillies Could Pursue Mike Minor
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies could pursue a trade for Texas Rangers starting pitcher Mike Minor, according to sources. The 30-year-old swingman had a 4.18 ERA and 7.6 K/9 as a starter last year for Texas and was also solid for the Royals in 2017 as a reliever (2.55 ERA, 10.2 K/9). The left-hander is also signed through 2020, so he becomes even more attractive if the Phils fail to sign a left-handed free-agent starter on the open market. Minor's versatility is useful to clubs, but he's only worth using in mixed fantasy leagues if he's in a starting rotation. He's expected to be in Texas' opening day rotation if he isn't traded.
