6 years agoUpdating a previous report, the Philadelphia Phillies are close to acquiring Miami Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto and are down to physicals and a third player beyond catcher Jorge Alfaro and pitching prospect Sixto Sanchez in the return package, according to two sources. This deal is coming together quickly and could be completed by the end of the day. Realmuto, already one of the best hitting catchers in baseball, would see a fantasy boost going to a better club and better hitting environment. Sanchez is one of the better young pitching prospects in baseball and Alfaro would be Miami's starting catcher, with Chad Wallach the only other backstop on their current roster.
