Phillies Acquire Michael Lorenzen From Tigers
1 year agoThe Philadelphia Phillies have acquired starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for infield prospect Hao-Yu Lee. Through 18 starts this season, the right-hander is 5-7 with a 3.88 FIP, 7.07 K/9, 2.30 BB/9, and 42.2 BB%. The 31-year-old is scheduled to hit free agency in November, so this is a true rental for the Phillies as they look to make a late push. From a fantasy perspective, joining a more competitive team could boost Lorenzen's value. He is currently rostered in 45 percent of Yahoo and 19 percent of ESPN leagues. Switching gears and focusing on the return: Lee, the prospect going back to Detroit, is 20 years old and currently playing at the High-A level. Through 67 games this season, he is slashing .279/.367/.395 with 19 extra-base hits, 14 stolen bases, 10.1 BB%, 18.9 K%, and 112 wRC+.
