Pedro Strop's Status Unknown For Wild-Card Game
6 years agoChicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon said he didn't know if relief pitcher Pedro Strop (hamstring) will be available for the wild-card game against the Rockies on Tuesday. Strop hasn't pitched in a game in over two weeks, so it seems unlikely that he would be used in such a high-stakes game. Strop filled in nicely for the injured Brandon Morrow in the second half of the season and went 6-1 with a 2.26 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 13 saves and 57 K's in 59 2/3 innings. It's anyone's guess as to who might see a save chance if the Cubs are leading late on Tuesday. Jesse Chavez, Steve Cishek and Jorge De La Rosa are all options.
