Paul Richardson, Two Offensive Linemen Out For The Season
6 years agoWashington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said that wide receiver Paul Richardson (knee), and offensive guards Brandon Scherff (pectoral) and Shawn Lauvao (knee) will all need surgery and will miss the rest of the season. It's a huge blow to a mediocre offense that definitely couldn't afford it. Left tackle Trent Williams (thumb) is also out for a month, so running back Adrian Peterson should be negatively affected by the beat up offensive line. Richardson hadn't really done much for fantasy owners, even with Jamison Crowder not having played in weeks. Richardson's loss means that Josh Doctson and Maurice Harris will be the team's top two receivers until Crowder can return. Harris blew up for a career day in Week 9, while Doctson found the end zone. Neither are very attractive outside of the deepest leagues with Washington's passing attack going nowhere. Maybe disappointing tight end Jordan Reed can finally break out, but he has shown zero chemistry with quarterback Alex Smith.
