Patriots Sign Austin Seferian-Jenkins
6 years agoThe New England Patriots signed free-agent tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. ASF has had off-field issues throughout his career and has also been set back by injuries, but the Pats decided to take a flier on him after Rob Gronkowski hung up his cleats in the offseason. Seferian-Jenkins had just 11 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown in five games due to injury in his lone season with Jacksonville. He'll have a chance to carve out a role in New England as their top pass catcher, but he'll need to stay on track and stay healthy. He'll be fighting for playing time with Jacob Hollister, Stephen Anderson and Matt LaCosse.
