Patriots Releasing Antonio Brown
5 years agoThe New England Patriots are releasing wide receiver Antonio Brown on Friday. The team said in a statement: "The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time." This comes as the NFL was investigating sexual-assault charges against Brown. There was a chance he would be put on the commissioner's exempt list during the investigations, but obviously the Pats knew something that didn't sit well with them. After being released by both Oakland and New England to begin the year, it seems doubtful that Brown will latch on with another organization. With Brown now out of the picture, it makes Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon much more appealing once again in fantasy. They are both must-starts in Week 3 against the Jets at home. Phillip Dorsett should return to three-receiver sets as well.
