Patriots Cut Austin Seferian-Jenkins
5 years agoThe New England Patriots released tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, according to a source. Seferian-Jenkins is stepping away for a month for personal issues and the club will release him when he does that. ASF is still only 26 years old but has had numerous off-field issues in his career that have held him back. Even with the Patriots he wouldn't have been a very attractive fantasy option after catching only 11 passes for 90 yards and a touchdown in five games with Jacksonville in 2018 due to injuries. Benjamin Watson will be suspended for the first four weeks, so Matt LaCosse, Stephen Anderson and rookie Andrew Beck will be next up as they try to replace future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski.
