5 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said that "there's no doubt in my mind" that quarterback Cam Newton (foot) will be ready for Week 1 against the Rams. Newton suffered a mid-foot sprain in the third preseason game, but he should be ready to suit up for the regular season opener. Coming off a second straight offseason shoulder surgery, all of his injury concerns make him more of a low-end QB1 selection in fantasy drafts now. However, Newton will be on the QB1 radar in Week 1 and still has plenty of upside on a week-to-week basis.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
