Spencer Shrader to the practice squad on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Starting kicker
Greg Zuerlein (knee) is reportedly dealing with a knee injury, and his performance this season has been disastrous. The 36-year-old has made just nine of his 15 field goal tries and has missed an extra point. Patterson, who has spent time with the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and Jacksonville Jaguars, has made 59 of his 67 field goal attempts in 39 games. Shrader is an undrafted rookie free agent out of Notre Dame and appeared in one game for the Indianapolis Colts this season, connecting on all three of his extra-point tries. The expectation is Zuerlein will not play on Thursday Night Football against the Houston Texans, and one of the newly-acquired kickers will handle kicking duties for the Jets. Neither option is high on the fantasy football radar.

Myles Gaskin but have re-signed him to their practice squad. The 27-year-old has spent most of this season on the active roster but offered minimal contributions. He had just 10 scrimmage yards on four touches, plus three kick returns for an additional 60 yards. For obvious reasons, he's off the fantasy radar.

Greg Zuerlein (knee) was limited during Tuesday's practice session. The veteran kicker has been added to the injury report with a left knee issue ahead of Thursday's game against the Houston Texans. It's worth noting that the Jets brought in kickers for a tryout on Tuesday. Zuerlein has struggled this season as he has made only 9-of-15 field goal attempts. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for help as Zuerlein might not even be able to play this week.

2 days agoThe New England Patriots were reportedly monitoring the trade market to possibly add talent ahead of the deadline. The organization is reportedly looking to add at wide receiver, defensive tackle, and offensive tackle. This seems a bit bizarre considering the Patriots are currently sitting at 2-6 and third in their division. However, the Patriots could be trying to add for their future and not a one-year deal. The Patriots were able to beat the New York Jets last week, so maybe their season isn't over quite yet.

Jameson Williams was recently suspended two games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Now, Williams could be in even more trouble after an incident with the police earlier this month. Williams was the passenger of a routine traffic stop on October 8th. He discussed the incident with the organization and it seemed like a minor issue. That doesn't appear to be the case as Williams reportedly had a gun on him in the car. The Detroit police are investigating why Williams avoided arrest after a gun was found in the car. Possibly this incident blows over, but this is something fantasy managers should keep an eye on right now.

2 days agoJacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Cam Robinson has been traded to the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday. Robinson has started over 90 games for the Jags over the last eight seasons. He has been a big part of the o-line in Jacksonville, but the organization felt it was time to move on. In exchange, Jacksonville will receive a conditional 5th round pick. It felt like the Jags could've got a bigger haul, but Robinson is in the final year of his contract. The Vikings desperately needed help at left tackle with Christian Darrisaw (knee) suffering an ACL tear last week. Robinson should be able to step in and provide stability to this o-line.

2 days agoPittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton had his eight-game suspension lifted on Tuesday. Sutton was suspended this offseason for violating the league's personal conduct policy following a domestic abuse incident in the Spring. Sutton will return to a Steelers defense that is once again near the top of the league. The unit is No. 9 in yards per game allowed and No. 2 in points per game allowed. Sutton last played in 2023 for the Detroit Lions. He recorded a career-high 65 tackles and caught one interception. Sutton spent the first six years of his career in Pittsburgh and returned to the team this past offseason. He will provide depth in a crowded cornerback room that includes Joey Porter Jr., Donte Jackson, and Beanie Bishop Jr.

Velus Jones Jr. Jones began the season with the Chicago Bears but was released prior to Week 8. He had appeared in one game this season. With wide receiver
Christian Kirk (collarbone) done for the season and
Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) potentially out for a few weeks, the Jaguars needed to add depth at the position. Jones brings an element of speed that would help the Jaguars push the ball downfield. However, Jones has never been able to push for significant playing time in his three-year career. While he does have a chance to make an impact given all the Jaguars' injuries, it feels unlikely that this move will wind up being a significant one for the team. Expect him to remain buried on the depth chart for the time being.

2 days agoThe Green Bay Packers signed linebacker Jamin Davis on Tuesday. Davis is a former first-round pick by the Washington Commanders in 2021. He had fallen out of favor with the new Commanders regime in 2024 and was released prior to Week 8. Davis has been a quality player at times. If he can reclaim the form he exhibited earlier in his career, the Packers will have a nice addition to their linebacking corp. The Packers' defense has been one of the most formidable in the league in 2024. They have had a lot of success shutting down opposing quarterbacks and creating turnovers. Davis would likely help to shore up an already solid rushing defense as well. For fantasy purposes, look for this move to bolster the starting prospects of the Packers D/ST.

Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday. With the Panthers essentially playing for nothing at this point, many wondered if they would trade any other veterans. Running back
Chuba Hubbard and cornerback Jaycee Horn have topped the list of potential trade targets for a while. However, it sounds like the Panthers are not planning to deal either player. The Panthers need to hold on to as much talent as they can. Both Horn and Hubbard are 25 years old or younger. Horn has played well when healthy and Hubbard has been excellent as the Panthers' lead back in 2024 despite the ineptitudes of the offense. Hubbard has rushed for 593 yards and three touchdowns this season. He currently sits at No. 5 in rushing yards in the league. For fantasy purposes, a trade would not necessarily be welcome for Hubbard if he were to wind up in a committee given how well he has performed in his current situation.

Joe Flacco the starter for the Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. This move comes after the continuous struggles of second-year quarterback
Anthony Richardson despite the belief that he would take time to develop as a raw prospect out of the 2023 draft class. Through Richardson's first 10 starts, he has compiled a 5-5 record while completing just 50.2% of his passes for 1,535 yards, seven touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Flacco led the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs in 2023 and has the chance to do the same for Indy in 2024. Flacco has appeared in four games this season, throwing for 716 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. He is now a must-add fantasy option in two-QB and Superflex leagues. His return to the starting lineup should provide a boost for wideouts

Gary Brightwell from the practice squad on Tuesday, according to NFL.com. The 2021 sixth-round pick out of Arizona spent the first three seasons of his career with the New York Giants before joining Cleveland's roster this year. He played in two games in 2024 but did not log a carry or reception. Overall, the 26-year-old has rushed 41 times for 164 yards and one touchdown in 37 career games.
