1 month agoDan Hooker scored a split decision win over Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305. Hooker was coming off a year-long layoff and was a heavy underdog. The Kiwi struggled with Gamrot's wrestling as he was taken down five times, but Hooker was able to land the more damaging shots on the feet. It was a very competitive fight but Hooker was able to land the better shots to edge out the split decision win. With the win, Hooker could be ranked in the top-five at lightweight and is now on a three-fight winning streak.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

1 month agoIsrael Adesanya suffered a fourth-round submission loss to Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 305. Adesanya was looking to reclaim his middleweight title and after an even first round, he struggled in the second round as he was taken down three times. However, Adesanya started to find his range and had plenty of success in the third round and the beginning of the fourth. However, Adesanya got rocked and fell to the ground as Du Plessis got ahold of his back and sunk in a submission to force Adesanya to tap. With the loss, Adesanya is now on a two-fight losing skid and is 1-3 in his last four.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

1 month agoDricus Du Plessis scored a fourth-round submission win over Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 to defend his middleweight title for the first time. The first round was pretty even and in the second round, the South African used his grappling as he took Adesanya down three times and had 3:28 of control time. However, he struggled in the third round and to begin the fourth round as Adesanya started to find his range. Yet, Du Plessis landed some big shots that started to hurt Adesanya and as he got ahold of his back he sunk in a submission and got the win. With the win, Du Plessis is now 22-2 as a pro and 8-0 in the UFC.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

1 month agoTai Tuivasa (14-7) is set to take on Jairzinho Rozenstruik on the main card of UFC 305. Tuivasa enters the bout on a four-fight losing streak and could be fighting for his job on Saturday. Tuivasa is coming off a first-round submission loss to Marcin Tybura and has been finished in all four losses. Entering this bout, Tuivasa is a sizeable underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,300. Tuivasa is 8-7 in the UFC and has won seven fights by knockout while he's been finished in six of his losses. Tuivasa likely needs a win to remain a UFC fighter.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

1 month agoMarcin Tybura suffered a first-round submission loss to Serghei Spivac in the main event of UFC Vegas 95 on Saturday. In their first fight, Tybura dominated Spivac and emerged victorious after five rounds. This time, however, Tybura got taken down early in the first round, and submitted with an armbar. In 1:44, Tybura had nine total strikes and zero significant strikes. A win over Spivac would've put Tybura close to the top 5 in the heavyweight division. Now he's likely going to drop a spot or two in the heavyweight rankings.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

Spivac managed to take Tybura down early in the first round and eventually landed an armbar. Prior to this bout, Spivac was 3-1 in his last four fights. In 1:44 of action, Spivac landed a takedown and three significant strikes. This win should elevate Spivac at least one spot in the rankings. With this win, Spivac's UFC record is now at 8-4.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
