Curtis replaced Marvin Vettori against Allen at UFC Vegas 90 on three weeks' notice. After losing the first round, Curtis came back and showed his impressive stand up game in the second and third round. Allen stepped on the gas in the fourth and in the fifth round to win the split-decision victory. In 25 minutes of action, Curtis landed 124 significant strikes, compared to Allen who landed 112. Allen was originally matched up with Marvin Vettori, who suffered an injury. Allen entered the bout riding a six-fight winning streak. Five of those wins came by way of submission. After five rounds, the judges scored 48-47, 47-48, 49-46. In 25 minutes of action, Allen landed six takedowns and 112 significant strikes. 6 months agoIn a closely contested featherweight showdown on Saturday, Morgan Charriere was on the wrong side of a split-decision announcement after his fight with Jose Mariscal. The first round was close but Mariscal did a bit more to win that round. The second round clearly went to Charriere, with the third round being the toughest to score. In the end, two judges awarded Mariscal the win, while the third official had it 30-27 for Charriere. In 15 minutes of action, Charriere landed two takedowns and 49 significant strikes. Over the 15-minute bout, Brzeski landed more strikes than Walker, convincing judges that he deserved the unanimous nod.
