5 months agoJohnny Walker suffered a first-round knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Walker entered the fight as a slight favorite, but just over two minutes into the opening round, Walker was dropped with a big left hook. The Brazilian was able to get back to his feet, but just 20 seconds later, Walker was dropped with a right hand and put out cold by one shot on the ground. With the loss, the Brazilian is now 21-9 and one NC as a pro and 7-6 and one NC in the UFC, while being on a two-fight losing streak with both losses coming by knockout. 5 months agoVolkan Oezdemir extended his win streak to two with a first-round knockout win over Johnny Walker to open up the UFC Saudi Arabia main card. The two had a feeling-out process of sorts to begin, but just over two minutes into the opening round, Oezdemir landed a left hook that dropped Walker. Oezdemir continued to swarm Walker who was able to get back to his feet and just 20 seconds later landed a massive right hand that dropped Walker and Oezdemir put him out cold with one punch on the ground. 5 months agoAntonio Trocoli suffered a third-round knockout loss to Shara Magomedov on the main card of UFC Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Trocoli took the fight on three days' notice, and in the opening rounds, the Brazilian had a wrestling-heavy game plan. However, Trocoli struggled to get Magomedov down as he went 0-for-7. The Brazilian then began to gas out in the third round and after taking a big punch, Magomedov swarmed him and got the knockout win in the third round as the ref stepped in after Trocoli was dropped. It was Trocoli's first fight since November 2021 and was his UFC debut.Source: UFC
5 months agoIkram Aliskerov suffered a first-round knockout loss to Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Aliskerov was supposed to fight back on June 15, but just over a week out, Khamzat Chimaev fell ill and Aliskerov stepped up on short notice to face Whittaker. It was a massive step up in competition and not even two minutes in, Aliskerov got wobbled by a right hand. Whittaker then followed up with some shots and landed a perfectly-timed uppercut that dropped him. After Whittaker landed a couple more shots, the ref stepped in to stop it. With the loss, Aliskerov is now 15-2 as a pro and 2-1 in the UFC. Aliskerov will likely need to fight an unranked opponent next.Source: UFC

Whittaker was supposed to fight Khamzat Chimaev, but a week out from the fight, the unranked Aliskerov stepped up on short notice. After a bit of a feeling-out process, Whittaker landed a big right hand that wobbled Aliskerov, and after missing a head kick, the former champ landed a perfectly-timed uppercut to drop Aliskerov. Whittaker then landed a couple more punches before the reft stepped in. With the win, Whittaker improved to 26-7 as a pro and is now 17-5 in the UFC. Aliskerov was supposed to fight last weekend against Antonio Trocoli but after Khamzat Chimaev was out of the bout, Aliskerov took the fight against Whittaker on short notice. Aliskerov is 2-0 in the UFC and enters the bout against Whittaker as the underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,800.
