5 days agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin caught 1-of-2 targets for six yards in Sunday's 28-14 win over the Carolina Panthers, adding three yards on his lone carry. It appeared that the rookie wideouts usage was trending up over the last few weeks, and Sunday's outing against Carolina was an excellent spot for a breakout game against one of the league's worst defenses. However, WR1 Courtland Sutton totaled 100 yards on his eight receptions, and tight end Adam Trautman had a surprising performance as the team's second-leading receiver (4/85/1). Fantasy managers likely weren't relying on Franklin -- still, it would have been encouraging to see him more involved in the game plan. The Broncos will square off against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, so perhaps the Oregon product sees more work in a more competitive matchup.Source: ESPN
5 days agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught five of his eight targets for 79 yards in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Jeudy turned in his best game of the season in the upset win of the Ravens, topping his previous season-high in receiving by six yards. The entire Cleveland passing attack benefitted greatly by having Jameis Winston and not Deshaun Watson under center as they set season-highs in points scored and passing yards in the win over their AFC North rivals. Jeudy will be on the map as a flex option heading into Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.Source: NFL.com
5 days agoWashington Commanders kicker Austin Seibert had another productive afternoon as he went 4-for-5 on field goals in their victory over the Chicago Bears. His lone miss came off a blocked attempt from 51 yards out. His longest conversion was from 47 yards out. Since joining Washington in Week 2, Seibert has only missed two field goal attempts and has been perfect from within 49 yards. Fantasy managers should continue to view the 27-year-old as a high-end fantasy option, given how impressive the Washington offense has looked. He should remain locked into all starting lineups going forward.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoWashington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz led the team in receptions in their victory over the Chicago Bears. Ertz brought in seven of his season-high 11 targets for 77 yards. Since struggling during Weeks 3 through 5, Ertz has now scored double-digit PPR points in each of the past three games and has seen at least five targets and four receptions in each of them. Without a proven No.2 wideout, the veteran tight end has emerged as a productive option in this offense and should be viewed as a high-floor TE1 going forward. Next week, Ertz will face the New York Giants, who have allowed the third-fewest PPR points to opposing tight ends.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Cedric Tillman caught seven of his nine targets for 99 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Tillman turned in his second strong outing in a row since the trade of Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills ahead of Week 7. The second-year wideout's second touchdown was the game-winner as he got wide open behind the Baltimore defense and hauled in a 38-yard score from Jameis Winston to give the Browns a 29-24 lead with 1:04 left in the fourth quarter. Tillman is quickly becoming a solid WR2 in fantasy and should be in all starting lineups heading into Week 9's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.Source: NFL.com
5 days agoWashington Commanders wide receiver Noah Brown played the hero as he caught the game-winning TD catch as time expired. Brown caught just two of his five targets for a mere 21 yards before the game's final play. However, Brown salvaged his fantasy day by bringing in the 52-yard Hail Mary pass from Jayden Daniels to seal the victory. Despite the incredible finish, the 28-year-old remains an inconsistent WR4 going forward. Over the past three games, Brown has only caught eight total passes while being deployed as the No.2 wideout. For now, he should only be viewed as a low-end flex option in deep 14+ team formats.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) returned to action on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals after missing the last four games due to a concussion. The 26-year-old completed 28 of 38 pass attempts for 234 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 28-27 loss. He also rushed the ball three times for 13 yards. The offense looked much more explosive, as expected, compared to the previous four weeks with Skylar Thompson, Tyler Huntley, and Tim Boyle. Another encouraging sign was how well the offensive line was pass-protecting compared to previous weeks. With the return of guard Isaiah Wynn looming, the pass protection only looks to improve. Fantasy managers must be pleased with his progress, considering the circumstances he has faced this year. Next Sunday, Tagovailoa and the Dolphins will travel to Buffalo to face their division rival, whom he has struggled against in his career.Source: NFL
5 days agoWashington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin caught five of his eight targets for 125 yards in their victory over the Chicago Bears. This was a new season-high in yards for the Ohio State product. His longest reception of the day came off a 61-yard pass. After struggling through the first two weeks, McLaurin has averaged an impressive 18.0 PPR points per game since. During this stretch, he eclipsed 100 yards on three occasions and caught at least five passes in all but one game. Fantasy managers should continue to view McLaurin as a high-end WR2 heading into Week 9 when he faces the New York Giants, who have allowed the 13th-fewest PPR points to opposing wideouts.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoTennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed 20 times for 94 yards, adding three receptions on four targets for 23 yards in a 38-point loss to Detroit. Pollard expectedly got a big workload with Tyjae Spears sitting out due to a hamstring injury, and was very efficient on the afternoon with a healthy 4.7 yards per carry against an extremely tough run defense. It was the third time this season Pollard has put up over 100 scrimmage yards in a game, proving to be a very trustworthy RB2 for fantasy managers. While the 1-6 Titans will likely be playing in a negative game script most of the season, Pollard is clearly one of the only featured offensive players on this team and should continue to see a lot of touches, making him a great floor play on a week-to-week basis. He will remain a great play next week when the Titans face the soft run defense of New England.Source: ESPN
5 days agoWashington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler was productive in his limited workload in their victory over the Chicago Bears. Ekeler tallied an impressive 52 yards on seven attempts (7.4 yards per carry). He caught two of his three targets for six yards. After totaling double-digit PPR points in each of his first five games, Ekeler has now fallen under that mark in back-to-back outings. The Washington offense struggled to convert in the red zone, limiting the 29-year-old's opportunities for valuable touches. Nonetheless, fantasy managers should continue to view Ekeler as a low-end flex option, as he will continue to serve as a change-of-pace option in the Washington backfield.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoWashington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. had a disappointing showing against the Chicago Bears in Week 8. This was his lowest fantasy output of the season, as he totaled just 65 rushing yards and 11 receiving yards off one reception. This was the first time this season that the Alabama product failed to score double-digit PPR points. Despite the struggles this afternoon, fantasy managers should continue to view the 25-year-old as a high-end RB2 playing on a potent Washington offense. Next weekend, he will face the New York Giants, who have allowed the 14th-fewest PPR points to opposing running backs.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoWashington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels went 21-for-38 with 326 yards and a score in their victory over the Chicago Bears. On the ground, he added 52 yards on eight carries. Playing through a rib injury, Daniels was able to drive the Commanders downfield throughout the game but was unable to strike in the red zone. He found his wideout Terry McLaurin quite often for 125 yards and on an impressive 61-yard reception. However, his fantasy day was significantly improved by an incredible game-winning Hail Mary pass to Noah Brown for 52 yards. The LSU standout continues to add to his impressive rookie resume and remains a top fantasy option.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoCleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb carried the ball 16 times for 52 yards while failing to haul in either of his two targets in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Chubb, playing in his second game of the season, ran harder and looked more decisive than he did in his season debut last week as he gets further removed from a 2023 torn ACL. While he didn't find the end zone, the entire Cleveland offense looked the best they have all season with Jameis Winston making his first start of the season. That fact bodes well for Chubb's rest of season outlook in fantasy as he will benefit from a functional offense around him. Treat Chubb as a solid RB3 heading into Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.Source: NFL.com
5 days agoDenver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman hauled in all four of his targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-14 win over the Carolina Panthers. Well, that came out of nowhere. Trautman entered Week 8 with just two catches and 32 yards on six targets through seven games, so it's certainly a surprise to see him end up as Denver's second-leading receiver on the day. Sunday marked the first time all season that the 27-year-old recorded more than one catch in an outing, and he out-targeted teammate Lucas Krull for the first time since Week 5. He'll need to string together a few more solid outings before we can trust him as a streaming candidate. Still, it was nice to see the former third-round pick get involved in the offense. Trautman and the Broncos will get a taller ask next Sunday in Week 9 when they hit the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens.Source: ESPN
5 days agoSeattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant had a forgettable fantasy outing in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills. After back-to-back games with at least 63 receiving yards, Fant only caught three passes for 22 yards. The Seahawks offense severely struggled in the absence of DK Metcalf (knee). Still, the output should not have been as bad as it was and Fant was in a great position to see more targets. Perhaps this offense needs Metcalf in the lineup in order for the other skill-position players to produce in fantasy. No one on the Seahawks had a fantasy day to write home about. Fant has been difficult to assess in 2024. He has scored single-digit fantasy points in five of his eight games. The consistency is nowhere near where you can trust him on a weekly. For now, he is a solid bench stash and a potential matchup play.Source: RotoBaller
