In what we thought would be her biggest test to date, Silva dominated Andrade as she kept her guessing from the opening bell until the very last second of the fight. In 15 minutes of action, Silva landed 117 significant strikes, compared to Andrade who landed 50. Silva has now won six fights in a row in the UFC and it's going to be tough to deny her a potential title eliminator in the near future. With this win, Silva is now 18-5-1 as a pro.Source: UFC

Andrade was coming off a split-decision win over Marina Rodriguez back in April. However, in a fight against Silva, Andrade got picked apart and dominated from the opening bell to the end of the fight. In 15 minutes of action, Andrade landed 50 significant strikes, compared to Silva who landed 117. 2 months agoTrevor Peek suffered a unanimous decision loss to Yanal Ashmouz on the main card opener of UFC Vegas 97. Peek earned his UFC contract by defeating Malik Lewis via TKO on Dana White's Contender Series. He entered the UFC as an undefeated fighter with a record of 9-0. 2 months agoYanal Ashmouz returned to the win column with a unanimous decision win over Trevor Peek on the main card opener of UFC Vegas 97. In his last bout, Ashmouz faced off against Chris Duncan and lost via unanimous decision. Throughout three rounds, Ashmouz was able to embrace the grind with his clinch work and takedowns to stifle Peek's striking. 2 months agoOn Saturday's UFC Vegas 97 event, Chris Padilla extended his win streak to five with a second-round TKO win over Rongzhu. After a competitive affair, Padilla landed a nasty elbow on Rongzhu causing his eye to immediately swell up. The referee called over the ringside doctor who had no choice but to end the contest, awarding Padilla a TKO victory. In 9:14 of action, Padilla landed 68 significant strikes.Source: UFC
2 months agoRongzhu suffered a second-round TKO loss to Chris Padilla at UFC Vegas 97 on Saturday. It was a competitive matchup between the two until Padilla landed a devastating elbow to Rongzhu's eye. It immediately began to close and swell up as the referee called over the ringside doctor. 2 months agoMatt Schnell retired following a second-round submission loss to Cody Durden at UFC Vegas 97 on Saturday. Schnell had success in the first round as he landed some heavy shots and appeared to rock Durden early on. He ended up outstriking Durden 40-to-36 and had the momentum as Durden looked to be slowing down. However, to begin the second round, Schnell shot in for a bad takedown and Durden got ahold of his neck forcing Schnell to tap. Following the loss, Schnell put down his gloves and retired from the sport. The American finished his career with a record of 16-9 and one NC in the UFC and 6-7 and one NC in the UFC.Source: UFC

Durden took this fight on four days' notice, and despite taking it on short notice and being on a two-fight losing streak he was the favorite. The first round was competitive as they traded heavy shots. To begin the second round, Schnell shot in for a bad takedown and Durden got ahold of his neck and got the tap just 39 seconds into the second round. With the win, Durden is now 17-6-1 as a pro and 6-4-1 in the UFC. He could get a top-15 flyweight next time out.Source: UFC
2 months agoKyle Nelson suffered a first-round knockout loss to Steve Garcia on the main card of UFC Vegas 97 on Saturday. Nelson was supposed to take on Calvin Kattar but he was forced out of the bout and Garcia stepped in. Nelson got ahold of Garcia's back just seconds in, but he got reversed. The Canadian was then hurt by heavy ground and pounds, although one elbow did appear to hit the back of his head. After taking a nasty elbow, the ref stopped the fight. Nelson had his three-fight winning streak snapped and is now 4-5-1 in the UFC.Source: UFC
2 months agoSteve Garcia picked up a first-round TKO win over Kyle Nelson on the main card of UFC Vegas 97. Garcia took the fight on short notice and had Nelson hurt early. After landing heavy ground-and-pound, with one elbow appearing to hit the back of the head to Nelson, the ref stepped in and stopped the fight. With the win, Garcia improved to 17-5 as a pro and 6-2 in the UFC and has won five straight fights, including all five by knockout. 2 months agoGilbert Burns suffered a clear-cut decision loss to Sean Brady in the main event of UFC Vegas 97. Burns entered the bout as the underdog and the Brazilian struggled with Brady's wrestling and strength. Burns was outstruck 274-to-76 while also being taken down seven times and controlled for over 10-and-a-half minutes. With the loss, Burns is now 22-8 as a pro and 15-8 in the UFC. At age 38 his future in the sport is uncertain, but the Brazilian remains a ranked welterweight.Source: UFC

Brady entered the fight as the favorite and he dominated the bout from start to finish. Brady outstruck Burns 274-to-76 as well as landing seven takedowns and having 10:34 of control time. It was a great performance from Brady who was the faster and stronger fighter. With the win, Brady is now 17-1 as a pro and 7-1 in the UFC.
