6 years agoThe San Diego Padres are engaged in ongoing dialogue with free-agent starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel's camp. The Padres also made a serious push to trade for Indians starter Trevor Bauer as the season began and have also spoken with the Blue Jays about right-hander Marcus Stroman, according to major league sources. The Padres aren't close to adding to their rotation, however, and trades after Opening Day are rare. So far, the Padres have been unwilling to meet Keuchel's asking price. The Mets and Brewers are other teams that have checked in on Keuchel. While the southpaw doesn't strike out many batters, he would be very attractive to fantasy owners as a ground-ball artist at pitcher-friendly Petco Park.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
