5 years agoThe San Diego Padres agreed to a two-year, $9 million deal to re-sign relief pitcher Craig Stammen on Saturday, according to sources. The deal includes a club option for 2022 that would raise the total value of the deal to $12 million. Stammen has been with San Diego for the last three years and had a 3.29 ERA in 82 innings over 76 outings in 2019. The right-hander is one of the more underrated bullpen arms leading up to the ninth inning, and he will remain a top setup arm for closer Kirby Yates in San Diego. Stammen doesn't have a ton of standalone fantasy value, however, unless he's closing games regularly.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
