Padres Acquire Sean Manaea From A's
3 years agoThe San Diego Padres acquired starting pitcher Sean Manaea and relief pitcher Aaron Holiday from the Oakland Athletics on Sunday in exchange for minor league infielder Euribiel Angeles and right-hander Adrian Martinez, according to a source. Manaea had been involved in offseason trade rumors all spring, and he'll finally be dealt just before Opening Day to a Padres rotation that is already pretty stacked with Yu Darvish, Joe Musgrove, Blake Snell and Mike Clevinger. The 30-year-old left-hander will become slightly more attractive while joining a better club after he posted a 3.91 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 194:41 K:BB over 179 1/3 innings in 2021. Chris Paddack, who has been involved in trade talks with the New York Mets, could be on his way out of San Diego.
