Orioles Won't Have Set Closer For A While
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said it might be a while before the team has a set closer in 2019. Reliever Mychal Givens, who was expected to be the primary closer for the O's, pitched in the eighth inning of Saturday's win over the Yankees. Richard Bleier started the ninth inning but Mike Wright came in to close it out for the save. All three relief pitchers could see time in the ninth to begin the season, but this is definitely a situation to avoid for fantasy owners for now. Givens is still probably the best long-term bet for saves, however.
