No Restrictions For Yan Gomes
6 years agoCleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes (thumb) threw to bases in Houston during a workout on Thursday, and manager Terry Francona said the backstop won't have any restrictions in the American League Division Series against the Astros. He still has two stitches in his thumb, but they shouldn't impact his hitting or throwing. Gomes hit .266/.313/.449 with 16 home runs and 48 RBI in 112 games as the starting catcher for the Tribe. He won't be an attractive DFS pick on Friday, though, while facing Astros ace Justin Verlander.
