Niko Goodrum Expected To Avoid Injured List
6 years agoDetroit Tigers infielder/outfielder Niko Goodrum's (knee) MRI exam came back clean on Friday night after he was involved in a collision at first base, and he was diagnosed with just a bruise. Manager Ron Gardenhire said the team expects Goodrum to avoid the injured list, but he will likely be sore Saturday. Don't be surprised if Goodrum is rested the next day or two. The 27-year-old was hitless in three plate appearances on Friday and is now hitting just .221/.321/.381 with three long balls, 11 RBI and three steals on the year. He's really only valuable in AL-only leagues the way he's played so far.
