6 years agoSeattle Seahawks tight end Nick Vannett has been standing out in training camp with Ed Dickson (quadriceps) still out with an injury. Head coach Pete Carroll said Dickson won't return to practice anytime soon. Vannett and rookie Will Dissly have been working with the starting unit, and Vannett caught a five-yard touchdown in the preseason game last Thursday. Vannett was bothered by a herniated disc in his lower back the last two years and had just 15 catches for 24 yards behind Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson. Vannett is intriguing since he'll have much more opportunity in a pass-catching role, especially with Dickson injured, but he's still likely to share playing time and shouldn't be drafted in most formats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
