Nick Foles Buys His Freedom
6 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will void the final year of his deal for $2 million after the Eagles exercised his $20 million option for 2019 on Tuesday, according to sources. Foles will now be a free agent unless the Eagles slap him with the franchise tag (around $25 million), which is unlikely. If the Eagles franchised Foles, they would then look to trade him. Carson Wentz is the QB of the future in Philly even if Foles won Super Bowl MVP last year and led the team to the playoffs with Wentz hurt again in 2018. The 30-year-old should receive a multi-year deal as a starter in what will be a weak QB market. He has QB1 upside, but we won't get a better idea of his 2019 fantasy value until he lands with a new team.
