Nick Castellanos Wants To Be Traded
6 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos, who is a year away from free agency and who is on the trading block, would prefer to be traded sooner rather than later. “He wants to win and understands the direction of the franchise right now is to procure prospects,” Castellanos’ agent, David Meter, said Tuesday night. “That being said, he would rather start with his new club going into spring training.” The 26-year-old is coming off a career year in which he hit .298 with 23 home runs and 89 RBI. He's in the prime of his career and would receive a fantasy boost if he was dealt to a contending team for 2019 and beyond. The Astros, Braves, Dodgers, Indians, Mets and Phillies have all inquired about him within the last year. With Detroit believed to be asking for a top-level prospect, it's been hard to find the right fit with teams who are also in on the free-agent market.
