Nicholas Castellanos Likely Out Until Tuesday
6 years agoDetroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said that outfielder Nicholas Castellanos (toe) will likely sit out until Tuesday, when he'll be re-evaluated ahead of their series against the Pirates. Castellanos is dealing with a sprained right big toe and is still not in playing shape. If he's not ready by Tuesday, Detroit could backdate an injured list stint for Castellanos. The 27-year-old is hitting .255 (12-for-47) with no homers and just two RBI in the first 16 games. Be prepared for an injured list stint if you own him and have a backup plan ready. Dustin Peterson will see more playing time as long as Castellanos is sidelined, but he's merely a bench guy in AL-only leagues.
