Nationals Pursuing Extension For Anthony Rendon
6 years agoWashington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said he expects to continue pursuing an extension for third baseman Anthony Rendon. The Nats will possibly lose superstar outfielder Bryce Harper in free agency this offseason, so they do not want to lose their next biggest star in Rendon. The 28-year-old has hit .305/.389/.534 with 85 doubles and 49 home runs in the last two seasons and plays strong defense at the hot corner. He could be in line for a five- or six-year deal worth more than $25 million annually. With Scott Boras as his agent, don't expect him to give the Nats a hometown discount.
