Nationals Bringing Back Daniel Hudson
5 years agoThe Washington Nationals are finalizing a two-year deal to re-sign relief pitcher Daniel Hudson on Monday, according to sources familiar with the agreement. Hudson was excellent for the Nationals after coming over from the Blue Jays in 2019, going 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, six saves and 8.3 K/9 in 25 innings down the stretch. He recorded the last out to help Washington beat the Astros in Game 7 of the World Series. Hudson really stepped up in the late innings to close out the season, but he'll likely be a setup arm in the eighth inning ahead of Sean Doolittle if Doolittle is healthy in 2020.
