Mychal Kendricks Admits To Insider Trading
6 years agoCleveland Browns linebacker Mychal Kendricks has been indicted on insider-trading charges on Wednesday. Kendricks allegedly received non-public information about corporate mergers in 2014 from television writer/producer Damilare Sonoiki, who was an employee at Goldman Sachs at the time. Kendricks then used that information to invest in the companies that were about to be acquired and made roughly $1.2 million in profit. Kendricks then gave Sonoiki a series of kickbacks from cash to tickets to NFL games while he was playing with the Eagles. In a statement through his attorney, Kendricks admitted to taking part in the insider trading and apologized to the NFL. It's unclear what this means for Kendricks in 2018, but there's a good chance that he could be suspended by the league eventually. The 27-year-old had 77 tackles and two sacks for the Super Bowl Champion Eagles in 2017.
