More Bad News For Alex Wood
5 years agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Alex Wood (back) was unable to throw his side session on Tuesday because of more back soreness. The left-hander has been out since Feb. 25 with the back injury and was slated for his first rehab start in the minors on Thursday. At this point, Wood might be looking at a return in mid-August now, and he has yet to pitch in a game for Cincinnati this year. The 28-year-old was 9-7 with a 3.68 ERA last year with the Dodgers and will be an innings eater for the Reds and fantasy owners whenever he can finally toe the rubber. Leave him on the waiver wire in mixed leagues and take a wait-and-see approach when he comes off the injured list.
