Miles Mikolas Expected To Make Next Start
5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (forearm) tested his bruised pitching arm on Saturday and was able to throw without pain and spin the ball without limitations. He was hit by a line drive on his right forearm in the fourth inning of his last start on Friday, but he's expected to make his next start on Wednesday against the Marlins in Miami. The 30-year-old predictably hasn't been as good this year as he was in his return to the majors in 2018, but he's been decent with a 4.54 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 6.5 K/9 in his 13 starts (73 1/3 innings). Mikolas doesn't have as much room for error because he doesn't miss a ton of at-bats, but he should be in all lineups for his next start against the lowly Fish.
