Mike Trout Targeting Late-July Return
4 months agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (knee) continues to rehab and has said he's targeting the end of July for a return, but with no specific date. The three-time American League MVP is swinging the bat well but still needs to do outfield work. "I'm pretty sure it's going to be pretty soon," Trout said. The 32-year-old 11-time All-Star is recovering from surgery for a torn meniscus in his knee but is apparently making good progress. The Angels certainly won't rush him back into the fold in another lost season, but at worst, it sounds as though Trout will be back by early August. The future Hall of Famer was hitting just .220 (24-for-109) at the time of his injury in late April, but it had come with 10 home runs and six stolen bases in just 29 games. Trout has become injury-prone on the wrong side of 30, but he's still a must-start fantasy asset when he's healthy.
