Mike Trout Might Not Be Back Friday
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (groin), who sat out on Wednesday with a strained groin he suffered Tuesday night, might not be ready to get back into the lineup on Friday after an off day on Thursday. The superstar outfielder said he felt "a lot better" on Wednesday, but he's also not trying to rush back early in the season. Manager Brad Ausmus said that Trout would be a "possibility" to play Friday, but expected cold temperatures "would be a consideration when it came to Trout." Trout's fantasy owners were just starting to see him heat up, as he was hitting .406 with five home runs and a 1.529 OPS in the first 12 games. Both Brian Goodwin and Peter Bourjos will continue seeing playing time for however long Trout is out.
