Mike Moustakas, Joakim Soria Become Free Agents
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers third baseman Mike Moustakas and relief pitcher Joakim Soria both declined their 2019 mutual options and will become free agents. Moose found a very cold market for his services last winter despite hitting a career-high 38 bombs in 2017, so he may struggle for takers again this year despite hitting .251/.315/.459 with 28 long balls and 95 RBI in 152 games between the Royals and Brewers. Soria had a solid 3.12 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 16 saves in 2018, with all of his saves coming with the White Sox before being traded. The veteran relief man is unlikely to have much fantasy value unless he's in a situation to see save chances.
