Miguel Rojas To Have Wrist Surgery Wednesday
2 years agoMiami Marlins shortstop Miguel Rojas (wrist) is set to undergo wrist surgery on Wednesday, the final day of the regular season, to address an injured right wrist that he's played with for almost two and a half months. He's in the starting lineup on Monday against Atlanta Braves right-hander Bryce Elder, starting at shortstop and hitting eighth. Rojas has played in 57 of the team's 68 games following the All-Star break entering Monday's game against the Braves. On the year, the 33-year-old shortstop is hitting .237/.282/.324 with a .606 OPS, all of which are the lowest marks during his Marlins career. Despite the disappointment at the plate, he's made 65 straight starts at shortstop without an error and should be in consideration for the National League Gold Glove award at the 6.
