6 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Michael Siani is not starting on Friday at Wrigley Field against the division-rival Chicago Cubs. Siani will take a seat to begin the series against the Cubbies after starting in each of the last four games. Dylan Carlson will man center field and will bat seventh for the Cardinals against Cubs left-hander Jordan Wicks. Siani has seen occasional playing time in the outfield for St. Louis with both Lars Nootbaar and Tommy Edman missing significant time in 2024. He's hitting only .206 (27-for-131) with one home runs, nine RBI and seven stolen bases, though, so he hasn't been on the fantasy map in mixed leagues. And when both Nootbaar and Edman are able to return, Siani could be sent to the minors in a roster crunch. Carlson has missed time with injuries this year and is still searching for his first home run of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
